FTA Announces $600 Million Notice of Funding Opportunity to Replace Railcars Across the Nation

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) today announced $600 million in competitive grant funding is now available through its Rail Vehicle Replacement Program. The Fiscal Year 2022 and Fiscal Year 2023 funds will support efforts to replace and restore our nation’s railcars for the safety and convenience of riders everywhere.
The Rail Vehicle Replacement Program will fund transit agencies and state and local governmental authorities’ efforts to replace rail vehicles that have exceeded their useful life, so that passengers will experience an improved commute.
The application period will close on January 5, 2023.
