FTA Seeks Members for the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety
FTA Seeks Members for the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety
Published on: February 3, 2022
On January 18, 2022, FTA published a Federal Register Notice (FRN) announcing its intent to reestablish the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety (TRACS). TRACS provides information, advice and recommendations on transit safety and other issues as determined by the Secretary of Transportation and the FTA Administrator.
The FTA TRACS charter is now reestablished and on February 7, 2022, FTA will publish a second FRN inviting qualified individuals interested in serving as TRACS members for a two-year term. The application information will be available on the TRACS webpage and the deadline to apply is March 9, 2022.
Applicants should know trends and issues related to rail and/or bus transit safety. Along with their experience in the rail and/or bus transit industry, applicants will also be evaluated and selected based on factors including leadership and organizational skills, region of the country represented, diversity characteristics and overall balance of industry representation.
