Published on: January 24, 2022
On January 18, FTA published a notice in the Federal Register announcing its intent to reestablish the Transit Advisory Committee for Safety (TRACS).
TRACS provides information, advice and recommendations on transit safety and other issues as determined by the Secretary of Transportation and the FTA Administrator. TRACS has provided FTA with valuable recommendations for over 10 years on issues such as Safety Management Systems, State Safety Oversight, the Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan, transit worker assaults, safety culture, trespass and suicide prevention, roadway worker protection, employee safety reporting and more. A Federal Register Notice soliciting membership nomination will be published in the coming weeks.
