Nominations are Open for the Tribal Transit Champions and Systems Awards!
In 2019, National RTAP presented the first biennial Tribal Transit Awards. This year’s awards will be presented at the National RTAP Technical Assistance Conference: Navigating the Tides of Change for Rural and Tribal Transit, December 3-6, 2023 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The two awards recognize challenges overcome and best practices that raise the bar for tribal transit. The recognition distinguishes the award recipients as champions in this industry.
The Tribal Transit Champions award recognizes people who have been or who are the driving forces behind a tribal transit system. Tribal Transit Champions Award nominations are for individuals that have made significant contributions to the tribal transit community.
The Tribal Transit Systems award recognizes challenges overcome and best practices that raise the bar for tribal transit systems. The recognition of an agency will distinguish them as a champion for tribal and community mobility.
The deadline is October 20, 2023.
